About me

I started by going into medicine initially using emergency (Paramedical studies) as my way in. I was interested in the human body and how we can use medicine to help fix and maintain it. Overtime I came to learn that the only benefit I found in medicine was acute and that when it came to chronic problems or more general untreatable ones it was fairly useless.

I decided to switch to studying psychology, I would honestly say my learning outside of my degree was much more valuable than what I learn, and I believe other diligent mental health professionals would say as much. In total I have read over 50 different books about philosophy and psychology, some of my favourites being Adler, Beck and Bandura.

I am currently completing my masters in counselling and psychotherapy. My preferred style is Cognitive Behavioural styles accompanied by a humanistic and holistic view of mental health. I emphasise treating each client as an individual who is unique and has their own context and thoughts towards what they experience and feel. I like to make a big focus on developing good self talk and nurturing a growth mindset.

Having done a minor in neuroscience, I often use a lot of more neuro-based techniques for the mindfulness training I like to run with teams and players, often utilising new research and techniques. I place heavy importance on mind-body maintenance; Getting your physiological needs is as important and complimentary to your psychological needs.

I have helped clients with a myriad of problems, so I wouldn't say I focus on anything specifically, however these are the main ones I have had in sessions: Impostor syndrome, stress, jitteriness and restlessness, conflict between players on a team, effective communication, emotional regulation, fixed/results based mindset, and team building.

Currently I am working my first stint in professional play as a Mental Health Coach for Kanga Esports in the LCO (Non-Exclusivity).
