About me
Perhaps you’re someone who is brilliant during training but struggles to lock in on competition day and perform under pressure, or maybe you just feel a bit lost and like no matter what you do you can’t seem to improve in your game. You might have explored these challenges with your coach, trained even harder, or read articles online which helped for a short period but didn’t resolve the issue in the long term. If you feel like you’ve tried almost everything, then you are probably at the stage where you want to work on your performance psychology.
Why work on your psychology? When you start working on your psychology you can develop your performance, resilience, confidence, motivation, and even overall wellbeing. Working with a sport and performance psychologist can help you reach your goals, especially with the help of personalised psychological training programs to help enhance performance, manage pressure, and maintain wellbeing.
Why work together? I decided to combine my love of psychology, sport and esports, and bring expertise across from traditional sport into to the world of gaming. I have been lucky enough to work with top European teams including G2, Solary, Team Endpoint, and attend LAN events to support players in person when it matters most. Not only is my work evidence-based and science-driven, I am bound by the UK's BPS Ethical code of conduct and a member of the HCPC. To use the title of Sport and Exercise Psychologist in the UK, I have achieved chartered status with the BPS, which includes having completed a BSc in Psychology, MSc in Sport Psychology, and QSEP2 in Sport Psychology.
I have been working with athletes and performers across many different sport and performance domains (e.g., Track & Field, MMA, Skiing, Esports, Twitch streaming, American Football) for over 5 years now. Over this time, I have supported performers to overcome performance anxiety, breakthrough performance blocks/slumps, learn how to manage pressure, build resilience, enhance motivation, focus on wellbeing, make lifestyle changes, and achieve their goals. I have a proven record for helping my clients reach their goals and feel supported throughout the process. You can see extensive testimonials on my website at: abbottsportpsy.com.
Who do I work with? I work with athletes and performers who want to overcome the challenges they are facing in sport, in their pursuit of excellence. If this sounds like you then book a consultation or enquire on this page.
About Me My name is Callum Abbott, and I'm a Sports Psychologist I decided to train as a Sport Psychologist years ago when I played for an American Football team. I used to find myself getting so nervous before games that I’d forget tactics, wouldn’t eat before a match, and panic when a big crowd would come to watch. I was very competitive and a psychology student at the time so started exploring sport psychology more and more to get to the bottom of it, which eventually I did. This inspired me to learn more about the mind and how it can impact performance, and then how I could help others also overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. So after 7 years of training and qualification, I’m now a BPS Chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist registered with the HCPC.
